Here at beautiful North Beach Byron Bay would be a village centre, 300 short-term stay apartments, villas and ‘pods’, together with festival lawns and private ‘3rd spaces’ – all melded to a natural coastal setting with an intricate ecology.

From 2003, Troppo worked with Tract as site master-planner and a vast team of specialist consultants in shaping village centre elements and diverse accommodation units, all nestled into the natural setting.

From 2007 Troppo took over the master-planning role, and working with landscape architects, TCL reshaped the project to fit anew Development Application framework. The project sought to integrate with existing transport systems and retained public permeability to the beachfront.

The developer was Becton, but the project is now on-sold, and its ambitions far altered...
